25-year-old rapper Iggy Azalea is famous for her Twitter battles, but now she is fighting a much bigger one.
The IRS recently placed a $400,000 tax lien on her for unpaid taxes from 2014.
Of course she used Twitter to vent about the attention she is receiving for her unfortunate tax situation.
She claims that the IRS is making an example of her because she is a celebrity, and has been in the news recently for her relationship troubles with her fiancée.
She is engaged to professional basketball player Nick Young, who seems to have a wandering eye.
Perhaps the IRS does also, because it’s hard to miss the 10 carat engagement ring he gave Izzy. It’s understandable if they are less than sympathetic to her financial woes. She had a chart-topping single “Fancy” on her hit album “The New Classic,” which was released in 2014, the year in question.
On Twitter, Iggy said she was paying off the tax debt on a monthly basis and dismissed the news about the tax lien. “They exaggerate everything. The IRS gave the option to pay them monthly or lump sum. I picked monthly, who wouldn’t?”
